On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 between 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Lumacare hosted their 9th Annual Client Support Services Networking Breakfast; Diversity and Equity of Care.

The event took place at 2195 Jane Street where over 50 guests were in attendance with representation from many local partner organizations.

Guest speakers Laura Gibbon, an Education and Training Specialist and facilitator at The 519, and volunteer Jim Maggi spoke about  the Older Adult LBGT community and how organizations can provide inclusive care to all people.  Guests were able to walk away with a new perspective and approach to providing care.

The morning wrapped up with the opportunity to engage in speed networking on a diverse range of topics, such as access to long term care, inclusive terminology, and mental health to name a few.

A big thank you to this year’s event sponsors and contributors including Duct Cleaning Specialists, Appetito, Philips Lifeline, The Mobility Shop Home Health Care, Imperial Coffee, National Maintenance Cleaning Supplies, Select Sanwiches, and New Unionville Home Society.
