On Thursday, June 29th Lumacare hosted our Annual General Meeting followed by our first Igniting Innovation fundraising event at the Warehouse Venue at Downsview Park. Igniting Innovation was the official launch of Lumacare’s Innovation Centre Fundraising Program, a cutting-edge concept that empowers the creation of new ideas and leads the advancement of care in our community.

Igniting Innovation saw over 100 RSVPs that resulted in a packed room and lively crowd. We had over 25 silent auction items to bid on including tickets, jewelry, hand-painted artwork, gift baskets, and household items.  Everyone was entertained by comedian Patrick Haye, and Marc Saltzman stole the show with his timely and appropriate interactive presentation on Seniors Aging in Place.

We also presented our agency annual awards.  The Inger Holm Leadership Award was present by our Board Chair, David Mousavi to Antoinette De Jagger (Past family service recipient of Respite service and current member of our Client and Family Advisory Council).  The Rose Paglia Volunteer Award was presented to Barbara Dalton-Kelly (Meals on Wheels volunteer and past Board member).
