It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the loss of a member of the Lumacare family this week.  Janice Grant, a long time Meals on Wheels Volunteer and a passionate advocate in her community, passed away suddenly on Wednesday January 17th 2018 at the age of 66.

Janice was a lively and fun member of the Meals on Wheels team, who joined Lumacare in 2015 after retiring from York University.  From her sharp sense of humour, to her bright green car and her pink and purple hair, Janice brought so much colour into the lives of the many clients, staff and volunteers she worked with.

Janice generously donated hours of her time each week to do multiple delivery runs to isolated and frail seniors living in the community.  However, she brought so much more than food to their doorsteps.  Janice cared deeply for her clients and built warm relationships that truly impacted the seniors who connected with her.  Lumacare staff, clients and volunteers are incredibly grateful for all that Janice brought to our lives.  She will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with Janice’s family and many friends in this difficult time.
