The York Centre Town Hall on Seniors and Social Services event took place on June 5, 2016 at the Grandravine Community Recreation Centre in North York. More than 100 seniors and community friends gathered together with Michael Levitt, MPP York West, and City Councillor Maria Augimeri, Ward 9 as well as leaders from seniors support organizations.

The program started with an introduction of the panelists by MPP Levitt and remarks about the provincial agenda around seniors and social services.

Following Michael Levitt, MPP’s remarks, the following agency representatives spoke about the services they offer:

  • Ryan Noble, Executive Director at North York Harvest Food Bank
  • Simon Cheng, Hub and Satellite Manager, Unison Health and Community Services
  • Ig Aluyi, Volunteer Coordinator, Lumacare
  • Elizabeth Macnab, Executive Director at the Ontario Society of Senior Citizens Organizations

Following the panelist discussions and a brief break there was a question and answer session.  Residents in attendance said the town hall was very informative and valuable to hear information directly from leaders and delegates.

Lumacare always enjoys engaging with our stakeholders and thanks everyone who was able to attend.
