A Memorable Fundraising Event to Officially Launch Lumacare’s Innovation Centre Fundraising Program with Keynote Speaker Marc Saltzman and Comedian Patrick Haye.
On Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Lumacare is hosting it’s Annual General Meeting and Igniting Innovation event. This two-part event is open to all Lumacare stakeholders, the media, and the community at large who have the option to attend either one or both portions of the evening at the beautiful Warehouse Venue located in Downsview Park.
The AGM portion of the event takes place from 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. This free event will provide an update to Lumacare stakeholders about how the organization continues to enhance, engage and empower the members of our diverse community alongside a review of what we have accomplished over the last year against our three-year strategic plan, Leading With Care.
At 6:00 p.m., our Igniting Innovation Event will begin. This elegant fundraising event, costing $25/ticket, is an opportunity to learn more about our brand-new Innovation Centre, a cutting-edge concept that empowers the creation of new ideas and leads the advancement of care in our community. The event will consist of a keynote speaker, live comedy show, silent auction, awards presentation, alongside various fundraising and networking opportunities. Food and refreshments will be available, as well as a cash bar.
We are excited to partner with leading technology expert, Marc Saltzman, as our keynote guest speaker to kick-start our Innovation Centre campaign. With over 20 years of industry experience, Marc is one of the most recognized and trusted technology evangelists in North America who is known as an author, radio and TV personality, public speaker and host of Gear Guide. Marc will be speaking about technology that aids with aging in place. Followed by this interactive presentation, Comedian Patrick Haye as seen on CBC TV, Yuk Yuk’s and across Canada will make his way across the stage.
Through the Innovation Centre Program, we hope to raise $100,000 by the end of March 2018 to further develop, create and implement three key initiatives over the next year. These initiatives include the enhancement of LGBTQ+ programming, expanding our HOPEWELL Psychogeriatric Adult Day Program and establishing an Intergenerational Program.
Look forward to an evening dedicated to learning about the latest and most innovative senior care methods and accompanying new technologies from around the world. Through continuing to research and develop innovative methods of seniors’ care, Lumacare is a leader in the field. Building the foundations of the Innovation Centre will only be possible with the support of our community partners, funders and Lumacare friends.
