In an effort to keep our stakeholders informed, we would like to inform you of an upcoming agency change that is taking effect as of March 31, 2017. In alignment with Lumacare’s culture of safety and our legislated responsibility to our clients and community, the Board of Directors in consultation with our Management team have made the difficult decision to close our Diner’s Club program.
Lumacare’s Diner’s Club program has been operational for over 20 years. A number of our regulars have been a part of this program for many years, and have built relationships with other attendees and staff. Over this time, the needs of Diner’s Club participants have evolved, and in many cases, have become more complex. Our number one priority as an organization is to provide safe programs with adequate support for the clientele that we serve. After carefully assessing the participants who currently attend Diner’s Club, it has become clear that the majority of attendees require a higher level of support than the program is able to provide.
Our staff will be meeting with those affected to help transition them into new programs that supports their individual needs at Lumacare. We are optimistic about the opportunities that lie within this change, as it affords our Diner’s Club participants a chance to experience our other programs within the organization.
