Lumacare invites you and your family to get active, participate, and support our Annual Elder Abuse Awareness Walk on Thursday, June 15th, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 497 Wilson Avenue.
The Annual Elder Abuse Awareness Walk is hosted by Lumacare with a focus on promoting healthier living in the community. As an organization dedicated to helping older adults live independently, we strive to support initiatives that promote aging independently.
Our not-for-profit agency continuously works to advocate on behalf of those who have experienced Elder Abuse and stands as an ally for older adults whose stories may otherwise go unheard. The Annual Elder Abuse Awareness Walk is a great representation of how Lumacare stands with their Clients and supports their journey as they encounter new experiences and challenges.
Through this event, we are also shining a spotlight on our partnering agencies who share our commitment to supporting older adults. Attendees can expect great presentations, informational booths, and other valuable resources which will help these individuals navigate their options as they age. On top of that, there will be refreshments and a silent auction – additional details will be announced closer to the date!
So how can you participate? Joining the walk is free, but for those who want to take their support of Elder Abuse Prevention the extra mile, there are four pledge levels available:
- A pledge of $10 = SUPPORTING WALKER – will receive a Lumacare key chain + hand sanitizer
- A pledge of $25 = PLEDGED WALKER – will receive a Lumacare key chain + hand sanitizer + cold pack
- A pledge of $50 = PLEDGED ADVOCATE – will receive a Lumacare key chain + hand sanitizer + cold pack + Lumacare T-shirt
