Lumacare is an incorporated and registered non-profit, charitable organization (10703 4134 RR0001 ) dedicated to bringing light into the lives of our community members.

Lumacare is an innovative provider of 15+ health and social services/programs, including:

  • Meals on Wheels
  • Transportation
  • Personal Care/Home Support
  • Adults Day Programs
  • Health & Wellness Programs

Lumacare is governed by a 10-15 person volunteer Board of Directors which is elected each year at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Currently, there are vacancies on the Board of Directors. This is a call for nominations to fill these vacancies.

The Lumacare Board of Directors embraces diversity, champion inclusion and strive to bring perspectives that are reflective of our community and the individuals we serve and work with. The Nominations Committee is particularly interested in candidates who live in the agency’s main operating area (South of Highway 7, West of Bathurst, East of Humber River and North of Eglinton) who have a background or expertise in fundraising, quality & risk, marketing, or are agency clients or caregivers of active clients. Previous board experience and a passion for working with seniors and community development is an asset.

Individuals who are nominated and agree to stand for membership election to the Lumacare Board will be making a commitment to a three-year term. The average monthly time commitment includes:

  • Regular Board meetings
  • Quarterly committee work
  • Representing Lumacare at community events
