The Lumacare Diner’s Club Craft Group is a group of volunteers that come together every Wednesday to spend the day knitting and socializing at Lumacare. Run by volunteer Rose Palgia for the last 30 years, the Craft Group is still going strong. Throughout the year, volunteer members go out in the community and sell their merchandise often complimented by a homemade bake sale with all proceeds going to support our Diner’s Club Program for older adults.
Since January 2015, the Craft Group has raised a total of $1591.25 for Lumacare!
This past October 6-8, the Craft Group had a craft sale at North York Sheridan Mall, and for two days at the Lumacare main office located at 497 Wilson Avenue. Volunteers, students, and staff members came together to support and purchase some great food and holiday gifts.
Lumacare would like to extend a special thank you to the group, as without their hard work, dedication, and knitting their hearts out, none of this would be possible. A big thank you to Rose who, for her leadership and for continuing to be inspiration to her group and to all of us at Lumacare.
“Thank you to all Lumacare Staff. I truly thank the whole craft group in helping with the craft sale and the bake sale, it is always a special event.” – Rose Paglia, Seniors Craft Group Lead
