Become a Lumacare Meals on Wheels Driver, and spend the day personally delivering healthy and nutritious meals to older adults in your community. You will likely be accompanied by another volunteer who will run the meals to the client’s door.
Our Meals on Wheels deliveries often need two people to deliver to homes across our community. If you prefer to be a runner and take the meals to the front door to give our clients, this may be the perfect volunteer role for you.
Help with various operational program activities, including interacting with older adults through conversation and daily activities. Assist program staff with meal preparation, including set-up, serving, and cleaning. You will not be responsible for toileting or feeding any clients.
Lumacare is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, composed of leading community members. The Board governs all decision-making at Lumacare by providing vision, strategic leadership, advocacy, accountability and stewardship. Board recruitment is an ongoing process with new terms beginning annually in the fall.

Do you have a passion for planning events and engaging with different communities? This may be the perfect volunteer role for you. Working with the Lumacare Resource Development & Communications team, you will help plan and execute our special events, including: logistics, decor, entertainment, marketing and communications, and much more!
Working directly with the Resource Development & Communications team, this role promotes giving, develops special and third-party events, creates innovative fundraising initiatives to keep up with the latest trends and best practices in the industry, and cultivates relationships with current and potential donors.
